A Calm Heart and a Steady Hand

This is the sender’s own account, sent to us after their prayer was carried in. It is not a promise that the same will happen for anyone else.
Dear Fr. Marco,
I asked you to carry a card for my cousin, who was facing a very serious heart surgery. The day you placed it before St. Peter's, we were all just sitting in the waiting room, trying to be quiet. When I got your photo, I showed it to his wife. She just held the phone and nodded. I think it gave her a place to put some of her fear.
The surgery lasted hours longer than they thought it would. The surgeon came out looking tired, but he said everything had gone as well as it possibly could. My cousin is home now. His recovery is slow, but each day he is a little stronger. He says he feels a strange sense of peace he didn’t have before, even with the pain. I don’t know how to explain that, but I am grateful for it.
Thank you for taking our worry and holding it up in that holy place. It felt like we weren’t alone.
