A Good Scan and a Peaceful Heart

Dear Fr. Marco, In the fall, I wrote to you with a prayer for my husband, who was beginning another round of treatment for his cancer. It was a heavy time. I asked your team to carry that prayer for strength and peace into St. Peter's. You sent the photograph, and I kept it on my nightstand. Last week we got the results of his latest scans. They show the tumors are stable. There is no new growth. This is the news we hoped for. More than that, though, I have felt a stillness through these hard months that I didn't have before. A sense that we are not carrying this alone. Thank you for carrying our request to that holy place. I will keep the card you sent.
