Dear Fr. Marco and your team,
I am writing to thank you. Some weeks ago, I asked you to carry a prayer for my upcoming heart surgery. I was carrying a plea for the surgeon's hands and for my own peace, as the fear was almost worse than the pain. I sent my prayer to you, and you sent back the photo of the card in St. Peter's. I held onto that image in the days before the procedure.
The surgery itself went as well as could be hoped. The doctors said everything was textbook. But more than that, what has happened since is a quiet kind of healing I didn't expect. My strength is returning slowly, day by day. The anxiety that used to grip me has lifted, replaced by a calm I can't fully explain. It's not a loud triumph, just a steady grace. I have a long road of recovery still ahead, but I am walking it now with more hope than I had before.
Thank you for carrying my words to that sacred place. It felt like I was not alone.
