Finding Peace After My Diagnosis

Dear Fr. Marco, I wrote to you back in early December. I was so scared after being diagnosed. I didn't know what else to do, so I asked you to carry my prayer into St. Peter's. I just needed to send it somewhere that felt safe and solid. I asked for strength to face whatever was ahead. I received your photograph a few weeks later, and I keep it on my bedside table. Something has settled in me since then. I'm not less afraid, exactly, but I'm not alone with the fear. I started treatment last week, and I feel a kind of calm I didn't expect. The doctors are hopeful. I am taking things one day at a time. I am so grateful to you and your team for carrying that for me when I couldn't carry it myself. It was an anchor. Thank you for being that quiet place to send a plea.
