My Brother is Home from the Hospital

This is the sender’s own account, sent to us after their prayer was carried in. It is not a promise that the same will happen for anyone else.
Dear Fr. Marco,
I sent you a holy card for my brother, who was in the hospital with late-stage cancer. The doctors were not hopeful. I asked that he might have peace and comfort, and that our family could be together again. I carried that prayer every day.
Your photograph arrived, and I showed it to him in his room. He held it and was quiet for a long time. A week later, his pain became manageable. The doctors said they could do no more treatments, but they said he was stable enough to go home. He has been home with us for three weeks now. He is weak, but he is here. We can sit in the garden. He can talk with his grandchildren. This is the peace we prayed for.
I know the illness is still there. But this time at home is a gift I did not think we would get. Thank you for carrying our prayer to St. Peter's. It felt like a hand was placed on our burden.
