Recovering Better Than Expected After Surgery

Dear Fr. Marco,

Back in January, I wrote to you. I was praying for my recovery from a major heart surgery. The doctors said it would be a long and difficult road, and I was so scared. I asked your team to carry my prayer card for healing and strength into St. Peter's. I received the photograph of it there, and I kept it by my hospital bed.

I came home a few weeks ago. The physical therapist who comes to the house says my progress is remarkable. I can walk further each day, and the pain is less than anyone predicted. My family notices I have more color in my face and more energy in the mornings. I know there is still a way to go, but I feel hopeful in a way I didn't before. The days feel lighter.

Thank you for carrying my prayer when I felt too weak to carry it myself. It was a comfort, a small point of light in a very dark time.
