Strength for Chemo and a Peaceful Heart

Dear Fr. Marco, Last month, I sent you a prayer card for my mother, Eleanor, who had just started her chemotherapy. I asked for strength for her body and peace for her heart. I was so tired and afraid when I wrote it. I received the photograph of the card in St. Peter's, and it was a comfort. Since then, something has shifted. The side effects from her first rounds have been manageable, which the nurses said was a good sign. But more than that, I have seen a calmness come over her that wasn't there before. She rests easier. I find I can sit with her without my own fear choking me. I don't know what the road ahead holds, but I feel we are not walking it alone.
